Wikibase as a Data Sharing Space: Connecting Rights, Communities, and GLAM through Federated Infrastructures

This presentation explores how the Wikibase Suite can function as a rights-aware data-sharing space connecting Wikimedia projects, community archives, and institutional databases. It shows how dispersed cultural heritage of small Finno-Ugric and Baltic communities can be reconnected through interoperable, multilingual knowledge graphs.

WikiMuseum = GLAM Wiki + Wikibase + Data Sharing Space

Our presentation shows how Wikimedia tools and federated dataspace design can reconnect dispersed heritage of small communities, such as the Livonians, Võros, Setos, and Maris. We introduce the Wikimuseum exhibition model and the Finno-Ugric Data Sharing Space (FUDSS), both designed to combine encyclopedic, archival, museum, and private collections into multilingual, interoperable cultural knowledge graphs.
